back to the particular guatemala city grind of dust, burning plastic and skinny dogs. after four months in the lap of luxury and freezing cold of alaska. there is lots to adjust to, aside from getting acquainted with the very darling sahid (12/22/07)...

slowly becoming familiar with the political scene again...new president, new organizations, seemingly less gringos adopting guatemalan "orphans". downtown--at least 6a. Avenida--feels safer now, there are more people on the weekends. as the understated talomé remarked, "the clowns are back..." a murderous bishop poisoned all the pigeons in the central plaza though, for allegedly crapping damage on the cathedral.
